An Update About Standardized Testing Update

World Academy uses the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing. This web-based assessment adapts to the student’s performance in real-time as the test progresses for a pinpoint picture of learning achievement. The middle school students will take the NWEA assessment on their personal devices. While we understand the need for standardized testing, we philosophically reserve the right to place a greater emphasis on other types of assessment to gauge a child’s personal and intellectual growth. This particular assessment is an important part of student/school/teacher effectiveness. Testing will take place in the Fall and Spring.

Testing will take place in the month of October, once the upgrades to our wireless infrastructure are complete. As we are planning out our testing schedule, we will reach out to the parents of remote learners to coordinate a specific time for testing as the assessment needs to be conducted on campus. Once the testing schedule is finalized, it will be documented on the school calendar and shared via email directly with families.
