World Academy Shows Commitment to Education & Improvement with NEASC Re-Accreditation

Accreditation Puts World Academy in the Ranks with Some of the Region’s Best Educational Institutions

(Nashua, NH) Since its founding, World Academy has maintained a strong philosophy of supporting the “whole child” in each student, and that means supporting students’ cognitive/intellectual, physical, social-emotional, cultural, and creative development alongside fostering their academic success. By earning re-accreditation as an Independent, Non-Public School from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in 2018, World Academy continues to prove they are capable of doing just that.

World Academy is the only school in the state featuring students as young as 6 Weeks to earn accreditation from NEASC, and has held this impressive distinction of quality and improvement for a decade. In total, under 600 schools region-wide hold NEASC Accreditation.

Founded in 1885, the NEASC provides the high-level recognition for more than 2,000 public and private institutions in the six state region, ranging from Pre-K through university level. It is one of only six accrediting agencies in the nation to promote collaborations for educational improvement among all levels of education.

NEASC accreditation is an ongoing, voluntary system of accountability reserved only for those educational institutions committed to improving educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds. Recognition by NEASC attests to a school’s wealth of available educational resources, a commitment to improving learning options for students, and integrity in how a school presents it available opportunities to parents, students, and the educational world as a whole.

In order to earn accreditation, an independent school must achieve fifteen Standards of Accreditation, ranging from Communication, Infrastructure, and Faculty standards to Student Experience and Resources to Support the Program. World Academy met all fifteen Standards in 2017, earning swift accreditation valid for the next ten years with regular evaluations along the way.

For World Academy, the re-accreditation process involved a comprehensive, on-site, multi-day assessment by a curated committee, composed of key educators, staff members, and community members from schools around the region. During this assessment, the committee had a chance to see World Academy’s processes, facilities, and staff in action, as well as the chance to interview and learn more from community members, parents, and staff connected to World Academy to get a better understanding of how and why the school continues to live up to NEASC standards.

“We’re committed to constantly improving, constantly examining ourselves, and always offering the best possible educational opportunities for our students at World Academy, and our success through the extensive and thorough NEASC accreditation process is a testament to the skills of our staff and educators,” said Dr. Lisa Dias, Head of School at World Academy. “By re-affirming our place among the ranks of NEASC-accredited schools, we hope to show just how seriously we believe in our ‘whole child’ educational philosophy, and how much we appreciate all those who help us constantly improve our World.”

A formal certification presentation to recognize World Academy’s re-accreditation by NEASC will occur in early 2018, recognizing Dr. Dias as well as key advisory members crucial to the process. World Academy is proud to be ranked among the exceptional schools within the ranks of NEASC Accreditation, and looks forward to continuing this trend of excellence, integrity, and improvement - to the benefit of all World Academy students - well into the future.
