World Academy Takes Two Championship Trophies in Div. 3 Basketball Tournament

Both The Boys and Girls Teams Beat Out The Competition to Cap Off Strong Seasons in Their First Year of Division 3 Play

On Saturday, Feb. 3, World Academy in Nashua saw both their Boys and Girls Basketball teams win their Division 3 Tri-County Championship games against rival schools in the area, netting a trophy for each to cap off an undefeated 15-0 Boys season and a highly successful 14-1 Girls season.

To cap off their championship runs, World Academy Girls defeated the Nashua Catholic team, while the Boys beat the team from Bow, each played at Epping Middle School. This marked World Academy’s first championship title in Division 3, coming in their very first year at that level since moving up from Division 4 at the end of last year.

The teams were led by Coach Erik Congdon, and cheered on for over two hours by the World Academy Spirit Team led by Sarah Bishop. World Academy looks forward to hoisting up the championship banner, while congratulating the departing eighth-grade players and looking forward to next year’s season.
