Darcy Cutter

Preschool Fours Teacher

Darcy has been a member of the World Academy family since 1986. She is a graduate of Hesser College and holds an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Throughout her career, she has taught Older Infants, Toddlers, Preschool 3s and Preschool 4s, as well as school-age Summer Camp. Darcy is CPR and First Aid Certified, and has been a member of our Yearbook Committee, Safety Committee, and currently the Summer Camp Committee.

Darcy is a lifelong resident of Nashua and currently makes her home here. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, calls the ocean her “happy place”, enjoys photography both personally and professionally, scrapbooking, walking, and “yard saling” for treasures for her classroom! Darcy’s favorite time of year is Summer, and she cheers on the New England sports teams, especially the Patriots!

Darcy believes that a developmentally-appropriate, hands-on classroom provides the best learning experiences for the Preschool child. This practice looks at the whole child as an individual and assesses and builds on the child’s needs and abilities, thus allowing the child to learn at his/her own pace. Each child is a unique person, and while teachers provide the foundation for learning, all children should be free to explore their surroundings and actively participate in activities their own way, giving them the chance to learn by doing. Children should also be given the opportunity to learn from teachable moments that occur in their daily routines, whether through their own actions or those of their peers. Darcy values a great communication base with parents to help reach goals for their children within the classroom.
