Emily West

Substitute Teacher

Emily West started in her role as a substitute teacher in April 2024. She says she has always had a passion for working with kids. Whether she’s organizing fun camp activities at a small campground in Maine, babysitting, or, most recently, helping out as a per diem substitute teacher in Litchfield, NH, working with kids has always been something she’s loved. Currently, Emily is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a focus on English at the University of New Hampshire, aspiring to become an elementary school teacher.

Outside of school, you’ll often find Emily hanging out by the beach or getting ice cream with friends. She also cherishes spending time with her friends and family in her hometown of Litchfield, NH. When summer arrives, you’ll frequently spot her by the coast in one of her favorite places: Wells, Maine.

Although Emily is new to World Academy, she’s eager to dive in and be a part of the team. She believes that there is nothing quite like witnessing the excitement on kids’ faces when they figure something out or try something new. Her goal as a substitute teacher is to ensure that every student feels welcome, appreciated, seen and prepared to take on the world. Emily can’t wait for the 24-25 school year to start to contribute to this wonderful community!
