Rachel Derector

Middle School Teacher

Rachel Derector is thrilled to be joining the World Academy Middle School team in 2024. She is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Elementary Education K-6 and holds NH Teacher Certifications in both Elementary Education (K-6) and English Education (5-12). She is also a Google Certified Educator.

Ms. Derector was born in New Jersey and later moved to Florida, where she lived until summer of 2024. During college, she spent a semester completing an internship working at Walt Disney World, which has since become one of her favorite places to visit! Rachel is brand new to New Hampshire and is looking forward to exploring the state with her husband and two dogs. She loves adventure, and in her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, cooking, baking, crafting, building Lego sets, playing games (board, card, and video), and traveling as often as she can.

In the classroom, Ms. Derector is dedicated to creating a safe, engaging, and welcoming student-centered environment for her students. She believes in the importance of collaboration and integrates technology into her lessons whenever possible. As a Google Certified Educator, she loves discovering innovative ways to incorporate various programs to enhance student learning. Ms. Derector aims to inspire a love of reading and writing in her students and is committed to helping them develop strong literacy skills. She is passionate about providing a safe space where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Furthermore, she encourages students to take ownership of their learning by offering choices and fostering a sense of autonomy in the classroom. Rachel is also committed to building a strong team among teachers, students, and parents, believing that a collaborative approach is essential for student success. She looks forward to creating a classroom community where every student feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
