Teresa is entering her tenth year of teaching at World Academy as our Visual Arts Teacher for students in K through 8th Grade. She holds a BA in Graphic Design from The Maryland Art Institute and Paier College of Art, and holds a Highly Qualified Teacher Certification in Visual Arts through the NH Department of Education. She has taken courses in Early Childhood Education and is deepening her knowledge of Art Education through classes online. Teresa has over 17 years experience teaching the visual arts to all age groups. Prior to teaching, Teresa worked in the corporate environment as a graphic designer and freelance artist for over 13 years.

Originally from Connecticut, Teresa has lived in New Hampshire for fifteen years.  She has been married for over thirty two years to her husband, James, and has three adult children, one grandson, a dog, and 13 Chickens! Teresa loves to spend time with her family and her extended family in Connecticut.  She has twenty-two nieces and nephews, and six great nieces and nephews!  In her spare time, she explores her faith, enjoys doing creative DIY projects, gardening, photography, reading, cooking, drawing and painting.

Mrs. Iannone believes that each individual has his/her own unique way of expressing oneself through the visual arts. Part of her teaching strategy is “to bring out that 21st century creative-innovative problem solver in all students. If a child adds to art skills by building mental creativity, it enhances that individual’s overall skills in core classes. It is important that all children be given an opportunity to explore art, learn artistic skills, and be exposed to a variety of artists, techniques, and art history.” Her students are aware that it is okay to ‘fail’ because even through those trials they discover new ideas and innovative ways to do things. It gives her great joy to see children accomplish things that they thought they could not do! Teresa is always very excited for each new school year as she cannot wait to see the creativity that her artists will share in our “World!”
