Mr. Darin Leedberg has recently joined our World Academy team as a Middle School Math and Science teacher. He graduated from UMASS Lowell in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and attended Cambridge College working toward a Master’s Degree in Education. Darin brings to our community 13 years of Middle School experience teaching Mathematics and many years of coaching soccer at the middle school level.
He grew up in Westford, Massachusetts, and currently lives with his family in Brookline, New Hampshire. Outside of his work time, he enjoys hiking the beautiful mountains of New Hampshire, playing with his two rescue labs, riding his snowmobile and building or fixing things in and around his home. He enjoys watching New England sports teams, especially hockey and football, and also loves attending Revolution games. In his spare time he volunteers extensively.
Darin strives to make his classroom an enjoyable space, where it is okay to take risks. He has high expectations for his students, but firmly believes in the growth mindset, where there is value in making mistakes, provided that we have the opportunity to correct and learn from them. Mr. Leedberg incorporates real-world projects into his classroom as a way to help the curriculum come to life in a meaningful way for his students. Having three adult daughters and one young son, he also recognizes the high value of the home-school partnership.
We are very happy to have Darin join our team and look forward to all of our families meeting him!
