Jared is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Specialist with the U.S. Army while attending the University of Maine. Heidi is a volunteer guardian ad litem for CASA of New Hampshire, an organization that assists in placing abused and neglected children in permanent, safe, loving homes. She grew up riding and showing horses, was very active in the 4-H program, and currently owns and shows American Paint Horses.

Mrs. Novak believes that one of the goals of education is to create informed citizens who are confident in making responsible decisions. She strives to meet each student’s individual needs. Heidi believes in creating a safe environment in which cooperative learning, as well as individual learning, can take place. “Children thrive in a nurturing environment where ideas, feelings, and thoughts are valued and they learn best when the curriculum extends the boundaries of their intellects to encourage them to achieve
their personal best. Children find joy in learning when a curriculum is intellectually challenging, developmentally appropriate, integrated among subject areas, and engaging all of their senses. Learning to work collaboratively,
communicating effectively, solving problems creatively, and acting responsibly are essential parts of the curriculum. She also feels that community service encourages lifelong
attitudes and actions that promote good citizenship.

Thanks for all you have done this year to support Kenna as she has grown and developed in third grade. Your care and compassion was appreciated during Kenna's recovery from her eye surgery. She loves learning and we value all you put into making school fun.
