Rachael Bottino

Rachael Bottino is joining our Middle School this year, and we are looking forward to having her as part of our community.  She studied Linguistics and Education at Gordon College for two years, and graduated from Granite State College with a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. She is certified as a Math teacher by the State of New Hampshire for Grades 5-12 and comes with much experience as a Mathematics instructor.

Rachael Bottino grew up on a hobby farm in Derry, NH, and she currently resides in Manchester, NH with her husband and their shelter dog. She enjoys nature, cooking, drawing, and music. Her favorite things include iced coffee, thrift shopping, and spending time with her family. She volunteers as a cantor in the music ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Derry, NH.

Rachael’s philosophy of education is centered on creating a welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable, engaged, challenged and ready to learn. Knowing that students are capable of incredible academic and socioemotional growth over the course of a school year, Rachael believes that her mission in education is to support that growth in a classroom that walks alongside students in their respective learning journeys. She strives to inspire students to chase after their own learning goals and inner potential. Rachael seeks to encourage a growth-mindset attitude that encourages students on a path of lifelong learning.

In terms of teaching Mathematics, Mrs. Bottino believes that content mastery depends on a combination of strong foundational skills and real-world context, with an emphasis on the intersection of math skills and everyday life. She strives to provide lessons in a relatable way through modern technology, peer-to-peer collaboration, and game-based learning. Her goal is to fully prepare her students for the learning/growing opportunities they will have in high school and beyond.
