5th Grade Makes a Splash at the New Hampshire Drinking Water Festival!

World Academy’s 5th graders made waves today with their incredible work at this year’s Water Science Fair and the New Hampshire Drinking Water Festival! Throughout the spring, students explored real-world water science topics by designing experiments, building models, and conducting research focused on questions that sparked their curiosity.

Projects were showcased and judged during World Academy’s Open House, where students were evaluated on Effort, Creativity, and Knowledge & Scientific Method. Judges selected five standout projects that demonstrated exceptional scientific thinking and innovation.

The top three projects advanced to the New Hampshire Drinking Water Festival held on May 6th at the Manchester Water Treatment Plant. The entire 5th grade attended the event to cheer on their classmates and participate in a full day of hands-on STEM learning. Students explored interactive stations focused on water conservation, pollution and erosion, wildlife ecosystems, and real-world science and engineering applications led by industry professionals.

We are incredibly proud of all of our young scientists for representing World Academy with curiosity, confidence, and professionalism. A special congratulations goes to Vanessa and Ella, whose buoyancy project earned 1st Place at the New Hampshire State Science Fair! Their outstanding presentation skills, scientific understanding, and teamwork truly impressed the judges.

Congratulations to all of our 5th graders for making this year’s Water Science Fair such an inspiring success!
