Kentucky Derby “Darty” Saturday, May 6th

Save the date for this very special, fun-filled “Day Party” to be held at World Academy’s Theatre/Gymnasium. The call to post will sound as we gather to raise funds for our Scholarship and Enrichment Fund and to celebrate the 143rd running of The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports - the Kentucky Derby!

Historically, this event has been our Annual Fundraising Gala, but this year it’s all new! Our Derby-themed event will offer parents and their friends, teachers, staff, and others the chance to mingle and enjoy a fun, festive, and (quasi) competitive occasion-all together.

Come decked out in your boldest hat and Derby clothes and join us for a lively afternoon of hospitality! Hors d’oeuvres will be served, Mint Juleps will flow, bets will be made (for the fun of it!), prizes will be won and guests will experience an afternoon of Southern-inspired charm.

The Kentucky Derby is one of the most famous horse races in the world, inaugurated in 1875 and continuing to attract millions of viewers each and every year. We’ll be tuning in to witness this year’s race in style - and we hope you’ll come and enjoy with us!

Tickets available starting March 24, 2017. Cost per ticket is $50 in advance. $65 at the door.

Our Child Care component will also rally around the Kentucky Derby theme at a discount rate for those who purchase tickets to the Darty. More details to come!
