Weekly Update From World Academy – April 16, 2021
Dear Wonderful Families,
Since we have been fortunate enough to have our hybrid classes all year with the help of our prudent families and staff, we feel compelled to try to hold our graduations in person. In an effort to make sure we can offer proper social distancing, we are splitting the ceremonies of our Kindergarten and Grade 8 graduates into two days. With luck, we will hold our Grade 8 graduation and G. E. Nelson Gymnasium and Theatre dedication on Wednesday, June 9th in the evening. On Thursday, June 10th, we will celebrate 3 different programs for our Kindergarten graduates so that our groups can be smaller–one at 9am, 9:45am and 10:30am, after which we will send home with you the Author’s Tea books made by your children for them to read to you in person. (They will have already read for their class!)
Our Eighth Graders will then have a Thursday morning of cleaning and organizing their spaces and then will have a cookout and field day to celebrate their last day of school (complete with yearbooks and some keepsakes!!) It will be bittersweet for us all but we are glad to be able to share this, in person. We will let you know if the situation changes but this is our goal at this time. Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions. We are playing this by ear and with a great deal of optimism.
Warm regards,
Kathy and Lisa
President and Head of School
