S.M.A.R.T. Students Make Our World A Brighter Place

How a dedication to community helps drive overall excellence among all our students
At World Academy, our goal isn’t just to teach students. It’s to empower them and help them develop into a citizen who is truly S.M.A.R.T - and that extends far beyond just grades in the classroom.
S.M.A.R.T. students at World excel both in and out of the classroom: they’re Socially and culturally adept; Motivated to succeed and grow independently; Artistic and appreciative of creativity in all forms; Respectful of the cultures, beliefs, and needs of others; and Team-oriented and skilled at finding support.
For evidence of just how S.M.A.R.T. World Academy students can be, just take a look at Isabella, a sixth grader who combines a dedication to her learning and her extracurricular activities with an amazing school spirit.
Isabella is all about making the most of her time in school and has been since she started at World Academy back in preschool. She loves to get involved and works hard to make time for each of her passions, all while ensuring her academics continue to succeed.
She currently serves as a Student Ambassador as part of a program dedicated to connecting prospective World Academy students with current students to help them more easily adjust to school and become comfortable as a member of our community. Isabella is always willing to show her support by participating in open houses and student meetings and happily serves as a friendly guide to those who come our way.
When it comes to staying active with a strong sense of community, Isabella is as committed to her love of sports as she is to her academic activities. Last year, Isabella was part of the World Academy spirit squad, helping spread school spirit to all her fellow NorthStars. In her time at World, she has also enjoyed competition as a member of the basketball team, the cross-country team, the track-and-field team, and the volleyball team. This year, she made the soccer team and basketball team, with her eye on participating in the respective season sports coming up.
Isabella takes great pride in her academics, and she always gives 110% in her school work. She has consistently made the High Honor roll throughout her World Academy tenure.
For all her hard work, community spirit, and dedication to her community, Isabella has been honored as a NorthStar award recipient, reserved for students who demonstrate leadership among our school community.
But her hard work on the court, on the field, and in the classroom can’t keep Isabella from her love of music. In her free time, Isabella takes piano lessons, voice lessons and loves to dance in styles including jazz, ballet and hip hop. Her goal is to someday become ballerina and marine biologist, and we look forward to seeing her achieve both.
On top of all her activities, Isabella is sure to make time for what is most important: she is a loving daughter, a supportive friend, and always a joy to have around.
Isabella is one seriously impressive student, and she’s not the only one here at World Academy. We encourage all of our students to immerse themselves in their interests, and our instructors and staff work hard to support students and their families in becoming insightful, intelligent, and well-rounded young adults. By graduation, our goal is for our students to be ready to take on their own unique and fulfilling path after graduation.
Our philosophy is to support the “whole” child and to offer support and guidance to empower each student to become the impressive alumni they want to be. To this day, we remain connected with many of our alumni and highly enjoy watching them grow and succeed even years after graduation.
If your child is looking for an exciting and supportive way to excel in education and discover how he/she can truly shine, we invite you to come and visit World Academy. Come and see why we’re so dedicated to what we do - and with such “smart” students, we look forward to watching new students get started on their path to success each and every year.
