Amanda Silva
Director of Student Development
After a wonderful year as World Academy’s Student Development Coordinator, Mrs. Silva is excited to continue her work at World Academy in her new larger role as Director of Student Development. She is a graduate of Rivier University with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and General Special Education. She has multiple years of experience as a Special Education teacher providing students with direct instruction in Reading, Writing, and Executive Functioning skills. Amanda has a New Hampshire Special Education Teacher certification (K-12) and a certificate in Behavioral Health from The University of New Hampshire with a focus on Social-Emotional Learning in Elementary and Middle School students. Whether she is working with small literacy groups, social circles, or teaching Health & Wellness or Leadership classes, Amanda is energized by her students and their enthusiasm for learning and is committed to supporting all students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
Amanda is a Nashua native and lives in the area with her husband, 2 children, and dog, Manny. As a lifelong New Hampshire resident, she finds joy in all of the NH seasons, but especially loves skiing with her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing cribbage, wakesurfing, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
Amanda’s background in Special Education has given her a strong understanding that all students are on a unique learning and growth journey. She believes that all students are capable of greatness, with each taking a different pathway. As Director of Student Development, Amanda is committed to building and maintaining positive and trusting relationships with students and families, and connecting with each one is a priority. Her door is always open, and she welcomes all students, family members, and staff to stop by to ask questions, share concerns, or celebrate successes. Amanda feels that open communication with students, parents, teachers, and administrators is a key aspect of student success. She is looking forward to another great year of learning and growth and is excited to support and collaborate with the students and staff at World Academy!
