Ana DeAnda

Middle School Spanish Teacher

Ana is entering her thirteenth year teaching Spanish at World Academy Middle School. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish from Rivier University and a Bachelor of Arts from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico. Señora DeAnda is passionate about helping students not only learn the Spanish language, but also experience the rich traditions, history, and diversity of Spanish-speaking cultures. Her goal is to make language learning meaningful, fun, and connected to the real world.

Originally from Mexico City, Ana has called Nashua, New Hampshire home for the past 29 years. When she’s not in the classroom, she loves spending time with her husband, two sons, and their two small dogs. She also enjoys traveling, exploring ancient civilizations, and staying active. She travels to Mexico often to stay connected with her family, friends, and cultural roots.

Señora DeAnda believes that the key to teaching a world language lies in keeping students  motivated and engaged. She strives to make learning Spanish fun, interactive, and meaningful by combining  her enthusiasm with a thoughtful balance of language skills, cultural exploration, and real world connections.

As a native speaker, she draws deeply from her own experiences and heritage to enrich her teaching. “Hispanic culture is enormously rich in traditions, stories and history and one of the most important aspects of my teaching is to share this cultural aspect with my students. Learning Spanish as a second language challenges students to discover connections between languages and cultures, in addition to creating an awareness and understanding of cultures different from their own.”

Spanish class choice is increasing in our ‘World’ and the greater world and we are so lucky to have Ana here to teach it with finesse!!!!
