Emily West

Substitute Teacher

Emily West joined World Academy in April 2024 and has always had a passion for working with kids. She enjoys creating fun, engaging experiences for children; whether through planning camp activities at a small campground in Maine or supporting students in the classroom. Emily is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on English at the University of New Hampshire, aspiring to become an elementary school teacher.

Outside of school, you’ll often find Emily enjoying the beach or grabbing ice cream with friends. She also loves spending time with her friends and family in her hometown of Litchfield, NH. During the summer, one of her favorite places to be is by the coast in Wells, Maine.

Emily loves being part of the World Academy community and is excited to continue connecting with students and colleagues. She believes there’s nothing like witnessing the excitement on kids’ faces when they discover something new. Her goal as a substitute teacher is to help every student feel welcome, appreciated, and confident in their abilities. Emily is looking forward to the 2025-2026 school year and all the opportunities it will bring! We are lucky to have her in our “World.”
