Giovanna Carbonaro

Substitute Teacher

Giovanna Carbonaro has joined the World Academy in 2025. She is a graduate of University of Maryland Baltimore County with a B.A in Modern Languages & Linguistics with a minor in Spanish.

Mrs. Carbonaro is originally from Peru and has been living in the United States since 2001. She lives in Amherst with her husband, two boys (who attend World Academy) and her lovely chocolate labrador girl. She enjoys spending time in her garden, cooking Peruvian cuisine, and hiking the great outdoors with her family. She believes that staying active together as a family helps them stay energized, connected, and joyful.

Mrs. Carbonaro strongly believes in connecting with students before she starts teaching. She believes each one of them brings unique curiosity, cultural background and enthusiasm to the classroom creating teachable moments for all of us. She values team work not only among students but also working alongside with faculty members and parents in order to reach the student’s potential. Mrs. Carbonaro’s bubbly and inviting personality puts students at ease allowing curiosity and a positive environment for all learners.
