Kayla Duval
Infant Support Teacher
Kayla joined World Academy in 2025, as she has also earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Rivier University and has continued to expand her knowledge and confidence through hands-on experience in the classroom. Her commitment to lifelong learning and reflective teaching allows her to meet each child’s unique developmental needs while fostering meaningful connections with families.
As part of her academic journey, Kayla completed an internship with the 21st Century Extended Day Program, where she later worked for three years, supporting students through engaging lessons and academic enrichment activities designed to build confidence and encourage growth. This experience provided a strong foundation in instructional practices, which she has continued to build upon throughout her time at World Academy.
Her passion for working with young children began in high school through a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, where she gained valuable classroom experience. Since then, she has worked with children ranging from infants through elementary school, giving her a well-rounded understanding of child development across the early years. Working closely with older infants has strengthened her ability to create responsive, developmentally appropriate learning experiences, and she is excited to continue supporting children’s growth from the very beginning of their educational journey.
Outside of the classroom, Kayla lives on a farm and enjoys powerlifting, baking, drawing, and reading. Her creativity and active lifestyle inspire her teaching, and she loves incorporating sensory exploration, art, and hands-on experiences that encourage children to discover, create, and grow.
Kayla’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported. She strives to create a warm, nurturing environment where children develop secure relationships, build confidence, and explore the world at their own pace. She believes the earliest years provide the foundation for lifelong learning and is passionate about fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning through responsive care, meaningful interactions, and developmentally appropriate experiences.
