Marguerite Pellerin
Preschool Threes Teacher
Marguerite (Maya) Pellerin joined World Academy in 2025 as a seasoned Early Childhood Educator and lifelong learner with a deep passion for teaching and child development. Since beginning her career in 2005, she has served in various roles, including Toddler and Pre-K teacher, Music teacher, Program Coordinator, and Curriculum Coordinator. In 2023, she became Head of School at a Montessori program in Massachusetts, later moving on to direct and open a nonprofit Early Learning Center in Southern NH. After a successful year in leadership, she is returning to the classroom, where her passion truly lies. Ms. Maya holds an Early Education Certificate in Environmental Design for Toddlers and Preschool, an Associate’s in Arts and Humanities with a business focus, a Bachelor’s in Communications and Business Administration, and additional certifications in childcare administration and play-based curriculum design.
She lives in Merrimack, New Hampshire, with her husband of 14 years, Robert, their two children—Logan (14) and Libby (10)—as well as their spirited dog, Ollie, and sweet cat, Zoey. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hosting game nights, watching period films, and taking long walks—especially by the ocean— and being lost in a great book.
Ms. Maya’s teaching philosophy centers on nurturing each child’s social-emotional development, fostering a strong sense of community, and promoting investigative learning. She designs curriculum guided by the New Hampshire Early Learning Standards (NH ELS) and uses individualized child profiles to track progress, strengths, and learning styles. With ABC Behavior Planning and an emphasis on Multiple Intelligences, she creates a classroom environment that is both intentional and responsive to each child’s needs. Drawing from Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, she prioritizes emotional safety, strong relationships, and meaningful transitions to build a “yes” environment grounded in trust and respect. Her goal is to support each child’s growth by identifying their zone of proximal development and helping them thrive through thoughtful, personalized teaching.
