Sherri St. Lawrence

Substitute/Teacher Mentor

Sherri has been teaching at World Academy for fourteen years. She is a graduate of Rivier University with a Masters of Education in Elementary Education and holds a K-8 New Hampshire Teacher Certification. She also possesses a Master of Business Administration from Rivier University along with a Bachelor of Science from Providence College.

Mrs. St.Lawrence was born and raised in Nashua, New Hampshire and has lived here all her life with some shorter stays in Glens Falls, New York and Merrimack, New Hampshire. She enjoys time at the beach in Rye, shopping with her daughter, Sarah, a World Academy Alumna who is a junior in college; walking; bowling, eating out, and traveling. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, extended family, and friends.

As an educator Sherri envisions a customized, progressive, and collaborative educational program. Mrs. St. Lawrence’s philosophy balances and unifies the ideas of cooperation through authentic learning experiences in the classroom. She does this through hands- on classroom activities and labs that rely on teamwork. She also perceives Science to be fun and integrates many curriculum disciplines in order to appropriately and effectively advance her students. As an educator Mrs. St.Lawrence’s teaching style strives to employ all of these above characteristics into her teachings. Through the use of these ideas, she hopes to make a continuing difference in
her students’ lives. Learning and teaching is a lifelong process, one she does not take lightly. It has always been a dream to become a teacher and through this pursuit she hopes to inspire, contribute, and challenge the young minds of our future.

Mrs. St.Lawrence sees her students as the best part of her classroom and she really enjoys hearing them ask questions, watching them grow, and knowing that they learn something
new each day! What a fabulous human being and educator!!!
Due to her upcoming retirement this spring, she has decided to assume a more flexible position while still remaining a part of the World Academy team in a Middle School Substitute/Support Role this coming year. We are grateful she shares our “World!”
