Middle School Teacher ~ Grades 4 to 6
World Academy is seeking an innovative individual to deliver an established curriculum for the 23-24 school year. Applicants will be responsible for the delivery of content, engage each student in active learning, use effective strategies for differentiation, enhance critical thinking skills, interact positively and professionally with students and parents, provide students with the knowledge, proficiencies, and experiences to become a successful, contributing global citizen.
The ideal candidate will be expected to teach at least two of the core following subjects for grades 4-6: English Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies. Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university and must possess a valid NH or MA teacher certification or from a state with recognized reciprocity for either. This certificate must be either Elementary Education K-8 or K-5. New Hampshire Highly Qualified Teacher Status or its equivalent from another state, preferred.
The candidate will implement instructional strategies that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. The candidate will be able to inspire and empower students in their own learning and have the ability to adapt teaching methods to students’ individual learning styles as well as create learning activities that correlate with instructional objectives. They should be able to effectively integrate appropriate technology while providing project-based learning techniques.
The candidate must have the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with teachers, students, and parents. They should be able to collaborate with their peers regularly in order to align curriculum, implement a behavior management program, and design field trips or other extracurricular activities.
Professional obligations of teachers are met through the continuous pursuit of a new understanding of teaching and learning, reflection on their own practices and beliefs, and efficient work habits for planning lessons, meeting deadlines, and honoring schedules. Substitute
Begin your Career with World Academy!! Be a full-time substitute in our accredited program for Infants through Grade 8 and learn what ages you truly enjoy and would like to work within the classroom. Most of our staff have been substitutes first to work their way into our wonderful school as full-time teachers. The variation each day keeps life interesting as you learn the ropes and find out about our great climate and culture. Must be available from 6:30am to 6:00pm to work an 8 hour day every day.
Ideal candidates will hold 9 credits in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education, including 3 credits in Child Growth and Development OR be in the process of obtaining credits, in which World Academy will be willing to help you achieve. Knowledge of NAEYC/NEASC criteria is a plus.
