World Academy Announces First Two Alumni Scholarship Recipients
Jul 19, 2017
World Academy in Nashua is proud to announce that Madison Gilbertson, a recent graduate of Bishop Guertin High School, and Connor Muise, who recently graduated from Nashua North High School, are the first two recipients of the World Academy Alumni Scholarship Awards!
The $1,000 Alumni Scholarship was planned to be a single award, but in this inaugural year with a number of impressive applications it was decided that the Scholarship would be awarded to TWO World Academy alumni of notable distinction, each of whom are headed off to college in the fall. This money will help both Madison and Connor finance the next stage of their education.
Madison, a Nashua native, graduated from Bishop Guertin this spring as a highly-decorated Varsity Tennis player, a member of the Campus Ministry, and a Classics Club Member. Madison also graduated with High Honors, and plans to begin her studies in Psychology at college in the fall.
“Having spent 16 years of my life at World Schools, there are just endless memories I could share, all of which I hold dear to my heart,” said Madison. “All of the teachers at World Academy have left a mark on me and provided lessons I will carry on with me through life.”
Connor, also a Nashua native, made his mark as a class officer, a track athlete, and a member of the Spanish Honors Society during his studies at Nashua North High School. Now graduated with Honors, Connor plans to begin his studies at Temple University in September. He attended World Academy schools for five years.
Earlier this year, World Academy Founder, Kathy Nelson expressed excitement in announcing that a newly-created Scholarship Award would be awarded to high-achieving alumni for their college education.
She fondly remembers Connor and Madison from when they were eager, young students walking the hallways at World Academy. “The Alumni Scholarship program reflects our mission to support students from cradle to career. We’re proud to see Madison and Connor on the path to success and so happy to help them continue their journeys as they look toward college in the years ahead!”
Congratulations to Connor and Madison!
