Summer is the season of fun, adventure, and learning. It is the time when kids can explore the outdoors, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime. World Academy Summer programs is the place to spend this summer. Our programs, for all ages, nurture each child’s natural wonder of the world by providing a catalyst for creativity, imagination, and the freedom to explore and discover. World Academy has summer programming for entering kindergarten through 8th grade! We hope that you join us for all of the fun we will have this summer!
SummerQuest Camp: Emerging Kindergarten Through 4th Grade
SummerQuest is our fun and engaging summer camp for campers emerging kindergarten through 4th grade! We believe that camp should be an informal educational experience, devoted to learning, based on fun, play, and action in a safe, yet stimulating environment. Throughout the summer, campers will have the opportunity to explore adventures such as field trips, geocaching, camping, examining ecosystems, joining in recreational activities and sports, as well as performing quirky and crazy science experiments, participating in games and contests while enjoying laughter, literacy, and fun with friends!
Enrichment Camp: 5Th Grade – 8Th Grade
An opportunity to eliminate the academic “summer slide” while having fun! This camp is designed to meet both the academic and social needs of late Elementary and Middle School Students (entering Grades 5-8). Students from all schools welcome!
STEAM Academy: 5Th Grade – 8Th Grade
Encourages creativity and innovation through design challenges and open-ended projects while fostering teamwork and communication skills as students collaborate with their peers.

SummerQuest
World Academy is looking forward to welcoming campers for our 2024 Summer Camp! Throughout the summer, campers will have the opportunity to explore adventures such as field trips, geocaching, camping, examining ecosystems, joining in recreational activities and sports, as well as performing quirky and crazy science experiments, participating in games and contests while enjoying laughter, literacy, and fun with friends! Our amazingly creative staff is working diligently to develop crafts, cooking activities, and sports and games that will be dynamic enough to encourage your child to dive deep into each theme.

What Does SummerQuest at World Academy Look Like?
- Daily outdoor swimming and playground/soccer field experiences, use of our gorgeous gym and rock climbing wall, arts and crafts, weekly cooking activities and awesome spontaneous fun!
- Intentionally planned activities and games formatted to bi-weekly themes, rated by the campers themselves!
- Nutritious lunches available for purchase Monday through Friday.
- Optional SummerQuest camp opportunities include soccer camp, special visitors, swim lessons, dance lessons, karate, cooking and art classes, and Lego design and more!

Sample Schedule For Younger Campers (Entering K/Grade 1):
For our younger campers, we have programs that are specifically tailored for younger campers who need the security of an all-day counselor and base camp. These campers will experience a consistent daily schedule, with a balance of animated fun mixed with quieter times, to encourage campers to choose activities that excite them. These campers are offered additional choices for swim lessons, sports camps, crafts and more!

Our older campers enjoy a true camp experience with the freedom to explore the themed activities available in our spacious game-filled outdoor cabin, with easy access to our expanded natural playground and soccer field. Team building activities, large and small group competitions, and exciting field trips give campers the opportunity to foster new and old friendships, while creating camp memories that will last a lifetime!

Early Childhood Programs: Infants through Preschool:
Our Early Childhood classes provide seamless, uninterrupted continuity between programs through the summer run by our highly qualified ECE teachers. With daily water-play and summer-themed curricula, students get to enjoy the outdoors, and our Preschool Threes and Fours students also get to use our onsite pools daily! Starting in September, the classrooms begin their academic curricula with continuing with monthly themes. All programs provide individualized learning year-round in a safe and secure environment. The students in our Preschool Fours program are also offered some of our SummerQuest craft and onsite field trips, and the entering Kindergarten students will be offered the opportunity for swim lessons.

THEMES & ACTIVITIES
JUNE 17th-21st – NO CAMP THIS WEEK JUNE 24th-28th – THE GREAT OUTDOORS
This week is all about exploring the great outdoors and healthy lifestyles! Campers will not only become familiar with the natural world around them but also with the different environments of the world such as the oceans, rainforests, and the arctic. They will also tune up their environmental awareness. Campers will discover how to unplug and enjoy life outside while learning how to protect nature and keep it clean, safe and beautiful for future generations. Activities include outdoor adventures such as hiking, scavenger hunts, nature walks and outdoor yoga, environmental awareness activities, gardening, farming, and much more.
JULY 1st-5th – AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL – (Closed 7/4)
This week the campers will walk through history to the present in order to discover and celebrate what makes our country so special. Using the magical lens of technology, and the powerful technique of group discovery, they will follow the lives of the men and women who created our foundations and carried us through to today. Campers will discuss freedom, patriotism, and the life of opportunity we have as Americans. This week will include elements of celebration through artistic and theatrical creations, as well as an All American picnic and singing the time- honored songs and anthems of our great country.
JULY 8th-12th – COLOR ME CRAZY!
This is the week of living color! Our world is filled with art, song, dance, and theater. It paints the world with creativity and expression! During this week, campers will have the opportunity to do the same with activities such as mosaics and tie-dye, as well as exploring music, dance and theater to create a living work of art to perform! Campers will explore the fine arts and create their own masterpieces to take home and enjoy.
JULY 15th-19th – SUPERHERO TRAINING
Get ready for an adventure of heroic proportions while learning to be a superhero! Campers will get strong and mighty through many action- packed activities such as escape rooms, climbing the rockwall, outdoor obstacle and challenge courses and other activities that ask them to take risks and work as a team! Campers design their own super-logos, masks, create comic books and more to formulate the perfect superhero secret identity. They will also recognize some of the heroes in their everyday lives, and even how they can play a part in their community to become real life heroes themselves.
JULY 22nd-26th – TIME TRAVELERS
This week is all about making history. Campers will take a look into our ancient past, delve into different cultures and research the folklore created through story and reenactment. They will become the performers and recreators of history, learn about and travel through historical and literary heroes’ journeys, finesse the art of fictional writing, and pay homage to the impressive creatures and humans brought to life through old stories and beliefs. Activities will be centered around various cultures of the world and their histories, local legends of New England, and other fantastical stories, with the exciting opportunity for campers to also create stories of their own.
JULY 29th-AUGUST 2nd – ANIMAL KINGDOM
During this wild week, campers will explore animals and their environments from all over the world. We’ll travel on safari, hike through the rain forests of the Amazon, and scale the natural icy creations of the Arctic. Campers will become explorers and scientists as they research the animal and plant life around them, then tap into their imagination and knowledge while creating a new plant or animal species of their own. A focus on nature and how to help our environment with virtual trips to nature preserves and animal parks around the world will round out this week.
AUGUST 5th-9th – WILD WATERS
During this week campers will discover and explore what lies just beyond our reach in the depths of the big blue seas. They will spend the week learning about the various oceans, the marine life that inhabits them, as well the brave explorers and fictional characters that have taken adventures over and under the oceans of our world.
AUGUST 12th-16th – CREATION STATION
Do you often wonder how things are built or what makes them work? How do you take a seed idea from imagination to production? During this week, campers will become scientists, engineers, naturalists and teachers. Camp activities will focus on hands-on learning while encouraging campers to imagine, predict, explore and build. With a focus on fun, community, and STEAM, young minds will be asked to take an interest in many forms of science to work together, create, and problem solve. For instance, what makes a building or a bridge stand so strong? What materials do we need to keep them standing during perhaps an earthquake or a tsunami? Campers will work in teams to design structures and run them through a battery of tests for wind, rain and other possible natural forces to see which ones will remain standing!
AUGUST 19th-23rd – UNDER THE BIG TOP
It’s time for a celebration! As the summer comes to a close, we want to keep the party going! Campers will create and run their very own “Campers’ Got Talent” Show. While using their creative skills in collaboration, campers will work as a team to learn the research and development side of this exciting production, then work together to put on an amazing performance. Step right up, and enjoy the fun!
Enrichment Camp Sample Schedule
8:00-9:00 AM – DROP-OFF AND SOCIALIZE WITH FRIENDS 9:00-10:00 AM: – TEAM BUILDING AND GAME TIME
Campers will start each day with team building activities designed to encourage the development of skills in communication, cooperation and creativity. Activities will focus on completing a challenge as a team, solving logic problems as a group, or creating something fantastic and imaginative to present.
10:00-11:30 AM – PROJECT-BASED LEARNING AND ACTIVITIES
Campers will participate in project-based learning activities based upon the weekly themes. The goal of project-based learning is to engage students in moments of exploration and self-discovery, in activities and projects that help them learn, share, and teach. Through this type of learning, campers will develop systematic and organic methods for problem-solving and discovery, by being presented with various goal-oriented projects to be organized and completed by the campers, individually, and as a team! Campers will work through projects related to the theme of the week that involve the development of skills such as organization and note-taking, discussion and brainstorming, team building, reading and writing, logic, dramatic role-play, mathematical concepts, STEAM, and public speaking/ presentation.
11:30 AM-1:00 PM – MID-DAY BREAK/LUNCH
Lunch, swimming and outdoor excursions abound including sports, games and nature-based activities. Campers can bring their own lunches or participate in “advance order” catered lunch Monday through Fridays at a nominal cost. For the afternoon, campers will participate in organized activities which include nature adventures, STEAM, visual arts and much more.
3:30-4:00 PM – WIND DOWN AND WRAP UP
This time will include the playing of quiet team and small group games. Campers can also listen to/read a book of their choice.
STEAM Academy
STEAM Academy provides a world of benefits for students, allowing them to engage in hands-on learning experiences and develop critical thinking skills. This camp encourages creativity and innovation through design challenges and open-ended projects while fostering teamwork and communication skills as students collaborate with their peers. Additionally, exposure to STEAM fields can help students explore potential career paths and understand the relevance of these subjects in the real world. Camp activities promote problem-solving skills, which are essential in STEAM disciplines, and successfully completing STEAM challenges can boost students’ confidence in their abilities. Our STEAM Academy offers a fun and engaging environment for learning, making STEAM subjects more accessible and enjoyable for Middle School campers… and it’s local so your camper’s friends can join the fun!

JULY 1st-5th – CHECKMATE – (Closed 7/4)
One of the world’s oldest games comes to World Academy! Campers will learn the basics of chess and its strategies from opening sequences to tactics to endgames. Campers will complete chess puzzles and learn about the history of the game by watching videos that have them apply their growing knowledge of the game to get the correct answers. Campers will also spend time playing one another in mini-tournaments throughout the camp. By week’s end, they will be prepared to take on the world of chess! Instructor: Chess Master, Dan Kilgour
JULY 8th-12th – “MIXED MEDIA ‘ARTIST SELFIE’ CAMP”
Get ready for an incredible art camp experience with a modern twist! Aspiring artists will dive into the fascinating world of figure drawing. Using a combination of charcoal, conte crayon, and graphite, campers will have the opportunity to create unique and imaginative self-portraits. Imagine capturing yourself in extraordinary situations with our ‘Artist Selfie’ concept. Picture yourself striking a pose in front of the majestic Niagara Falls or even while escaping from a horde of zombies! Let your creativity run wild as you explore endless possibilities in this camp designed specifically for Middle Schoolers. Get ready to bring your wildest ideas to life and unlock your inner artist. JULY 15th-19th – eSPORTS GALORE
In this realm, students will learn the basics of eSports, utilizing Rocket League and Mario Kart Deluxe 8 as tools. During these sessions, students will learn the basics of each game alongside one another employing school-provided resources. All week, students will compete against one another in each game to show their progress and growth. Instructor: eSports Coordinator, Dan Kilgour
JULY 22nd-26th – PODCASTING FROM SOUP TO NUTS
In this realm, campers will learn to design and produce a podcast on a subject or idea of their choosing. They will learn how to develop a podcast topic, access interviewing techniques, record a show, audio edit, and create the final production of a simple podcast. Instructor: Legoman Dan Hughes
JULY 29th-AUGUST 2nd – INTRODUCTION TO DRONES
During this scope and sequence, campers will learn how drones work, the rules of flying them, and how to safely pilot a drone. The program will pair them up in teams of two to solve a series of challenges while using proper techniques to fly a drone. The drones used in this realm are the same drones used in the World Championship Aerial Drone Competition. Instructor: Legoman Dan Hughes
AUGUST 5th-9th – FLOATING 3D CREATIONS
Here campers will use 3D design software to create various items on 3D printers. They will develop skills to allow them to improve their design ideas and make their creations more dynamic. The goal will be to have them design a 3D printed boat that will compete in our wild water racing challenge at the end of the week. Instructor: Legoman Dan Hughes
AUGUST 12th-16th – DESIGN & FUN WITH ROBOTICS
Robotics is a fun way to demonstrate creativity. Campers will work in teams to design robots to play games, as well as race and battle each other for glory and fame. Campers will practice build techniques, learn basic program skills, and use their design skills to shape unique and creative robots. At the end of the week, campers will have a chance to showcase their favorite designs. Instructor: Legoman Dan Hughes
AUGUST 19th-23rd – UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVITY THROUGH VAN GOGH AND MONET!
In this thrilling adventure, students will not only uncover the captivating world of renowned artists like Van Gogh and Monet but also embark on a journey to create their very own replica art pieces. Get ready to dive into the vibrant strokes of Van Gogh and the enchanting landscapes of Monet as we unleash our inner artists! Who knows, the next masterpiece could be yours! STEAM Academy Sample Schedule
8:00-11:30 AM – DROP-OFF and Engage in Specialized Weekly learning Realms
Campers will arrive and jump right into the specialized weekly learning realm engaging with new topics and academic opportunities to grow their curiosity.
11:30 AM – Wrap Up / Dismissal
Campers are able to wrap up what they are working on and are dismiss from the program for the day. At 11:30 campers are able to be picked up or join the rest of the camp for the extended day program.
Tuition
SummerQuest is a 5‐day camp offered in 1-week sessions beginning June 17, 2024, and ending August 23, 2024. Additional camp activities can be signed up for at an additional cost
Enrichment Camp is offered in 1-week sessions beginning June 24th, 2024, and ending August 23rd, 2024.
All activities and field trips are included in the weekly tuition.
- $15 Registration fee: $15/week up to $150 due with Registration form.
- Camp Registration fee waived for all students enrolled for WA 23-24 school year.
Please note all camps will be closed Tuesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day and Wednesday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
Campers should bring their own snacks and lunches, but may participate in catered lunch Monday through Friday for an additional cost.
